House of Hickory BBQ Shipping Information
Important Information & Helpful Advice
• HOH ships our award-winning barbecue, side dishes, and sauces & rubs to any of the contiguous 48 states. The barbecue is fully cooked, vacuum-sealed, and shipped frozen in space age reusable insulated boxes. Each box can be returned to House of Hickory for a $5 discount on your next order. We pay the return freight on the box. This lowers the amount of waste that goes in landfill. An instruction booklet is included with every barbecue order giving detailed reheating instructions to make the meal a raving success.
• We ship our packages Monday - Wednesday for delivery within the same week. We don't allow barbecue orders to travel over the weekends or holidays when FedEx is not moving packages. This helps to guarantee that your package will arrive in perfect condition.

How We Pack & Ship
We use space age technology for packing perishable items. We can thank NASA and the Space Shuttle program for developing a shipping container that is light weight and reusable. When you place your order, you will automatically be given an arrival date based on the earliest possible shipping date and the shipping method you choose when you order. The shipping charge will come directly from FEDEX’s standard rates. FedEx is our preferred shipping company because of their excellent service record. Standard Shipping -- FedEx Ground
We use FedEx Ground Service (or FedEx Home Delivery for residential addresses) as our standard shipping method. This is made possible by packing all products frozen to ensure that your order makes it to your door safely. It also helps that we are centrally located in the middle of the country here in Nashville, TN. While the vast majority of our orders are able to travel by Ground or Home Delivery, some areas do require Express Shipping if the delivery requires more than three days travel from Kansas City based on the destination's distance from a FedEx distribution terminal. FedEx is our carrier based upon their excellent service record with us and package reporting. . Express Shipping -- FedEx Express
Overnight: For Overnight deliveries, order by 2:00 p.m. (CT) Monday through Wednesday and your package will arrive by the next day.
2Day: For 2Day deliveries, order by 2:00 p.m. (CT) Monday through Wednesday and your package will arrive by the 2nd day.
Saturday Express: Due to the perishable nature of our product and the high rate of issues with Saturday delivery, we do not ship for Saturday delivery.
Shipping charges are based on the total weight of your merchandise per recipient, per delivery address and come directly from FEDEX standard rates. Handling charges are based on the number of boxes that must be packed. Multiple orders to multiple recipients at the same address require separate shipping and handling charges since every order is shipped in their own box.
Any order received after 2:00 PM Central Time is applied to the following business day. Orders placed on Thursday through Sunday will be shipped on the following Monday unless Monday is a holiday. You're welcome to place an order at any time for a future ship date, even months down the road. For urgent orders, please call Lee at 615-226-6266 to ask about the availability of FEDEX Express Service.
We guarantee delivery only to the addresses we are given. We cannot ship any package to a post office box for the reason that our products are perishable and need to be cared for on the day of their delivery. We also are unable to ship to APO/FPO addresses, or addresses outside of the contiguous 48 states. Rural Route addresses must include box numbers and a phone number. The accuracy of ship-to addresses and daytime telephone numbers for both the sender and recipient is your responsibility. If sending a gift package, it is also your responsibility to assure that the folks you are shipping to will be in town to care for a perishable package the day it is delivered. We ship perishable products. While you may have a desire to surprise your recipients, it would be unfortunate to have your gift go unnoticed on their front porch or be sitting there when they return from out-of-town. It is essential that someone be available to unpack and care for perishable packages on the same day it's delivered. Due to the perishable nature of our products, we do not require a recipient's signature for delivery at single unit residences as long as the local FedEx delivery driver feels that leaving the package will be safe from prying eyes. All packages contain enough protection to survive at least through the evening of their confirmed arrival date.
